PASS-CR CLIMATE CHANGE & FOOD SYSTEMS RESEARCH INNOVATION FACILITY

The Pacific Islands Region is at the forefront of the impacts of climate change. These impacts have compounding effects on Pacific livelihoods, food security and health. As such, the Pacific Agriculture Scholarships, Support and Climate Resilience Program is committed to delivering a comprehensive capacity building component in climate change research to enhance resilience in Pacific agri-food systems.

The PASS-CR Climate Change and Food Systems Research Innovation Facility aims to strengthen the existing education and research training programs by identifying and investing in future leaders to conduct climate change and food systems research. These Future Thinkers will then be in the best position to lead transformative actions in the research and innovation system of the Pacific.

OUR HOPES FOR THE PASS-CR CLIMATE CHANGE & FOOD SYSTEMS RESEARCH INNOVATION FACILITY

🌱
To strengthen the content and structure of postgraduate programs to better integrate food systems and climate change.

🌱
Capacity building – through funding and networking opportunities – of “future thinkers” who can lead a change in attitudes and implement interdisciplinary and transformative research projects.

🌱
Develop communities of practice that can help to support new ways of working, especially through long-term and integrated research initiatives.
